Sanjiro Minamikawa

Sanjiro Minamikawa was born in 1945 in Mie prefecture, Japan. He graduated from the Tokyo University of Photography in 1966, and studied at the Souichi Ohyake private school of Mass Communication as the one of its first pupils. Sanjiro moved to Paris and started his career as a freelance photographer in 1966. Now he lives in both Paris and Tokyo. He chooses his subjects with his unique journalistic eyes and presents his photographs and books on such themes as European artists, artisans and culture. His previous titles include "European artisans," "One hundred artists at home in their studios," "Romania - A Convent in snow," "The atelier of the author of detective stories," "A walk in decadent Vienna," "A portrait of the author of a Detective novel," "The road to iconoraphy."
